ChicGrams

Happy weekends all!  Mine is actually slated to be pretty busy with work (yes, even on Mother’s day), but my week days haven’t been too bad.  Here are a few snaps of what I’ve been doing over the past few months.

L to R, Top to Bottom:

Mummies – On the last day of the VMFA exhibit we caught the 3-D movie complete with mummy shaped glasses.  I came home with a magnet even though I really wanted the miniature mummy coffin…

Grid – Featured in Richmond Grid magazine, my article for RVA Fashion Week.  Pick up the March/April 2012 copy if you still can find them.

Necklush – The most unique scarf/necklace combo ever (won via giveaway) from the gents at Necklush.  Seriously, can’t get enough of their designs!

RVA Fashion Week – Life is so unfair – with my little sis who is wearing flip flops and I’m in heels (yes, younger by almost 10 years and taller by almost a foot) who was a model in the Short Pump RVA Fashion Week event.  Her first real show!

Authentic Mexican – When the menu is ALL in Spanish…. you know it’s good.  Drank coconut juice with pulp, like drinking desert.

RVA Fashion Week – Happy mother’s day!  My mom is the best – she drove over an hour both ways and sat for 6 hours so my sister could participate in this event.

Hudson Shoes – Only the prettiest little flats I’ve ever seen (won via giveaway)!  They are perfect for an upcoming St. John’s vacation…

Brunch – at Bistro 27, why yes thank you I will.  Next time I’ll snap the photo before I devour it.

Monday Chic: Necklush

This past weekend was very hot and hectic for me, not much time for things fashion related (minus attending the kick off event for RVA Fashion Week – details and pics coming soon), but I did manage to work in this lovely scarf from Necklush and the gents from Brooklyn.  I received it several months ago and wore it the first night out but neglected on a photo-op.  So here it is…This is actually doubled up and could even be tripled or just looped once.  I’m considering trying it out as a belt.  What other ways can you think of wearing it?  Be sure to check out their site as it comes in a myriad of colors, lengths, and even bracelet styles!  Perfect to shake up your summer wardrobe.

PSSST.  Don’t forget to follow them on Twitter @Necklush

Outfit details: dress – United colors of Benetton / sandals – Urban Outfitters / necklace/scarf – c/o Necklush / sunglasses – Prada / ring – Target (new)

Shop in Style: Necklush

You may have noticed a few tweaks and changes to the blog – it is a new year right??  One of the features I updated is my Shop in Style Section.  I will still be featuring a local or indepedant business every Tuesday, but instead of accumulating links on the side, I will feature 4-5 new links that section and they will be the stores I chose to share with you all for that particular month.  They will be listed for the entire month so you will have plenty of chances to check them out and marvel at their goodies.  Please note, these posts were in no way compensated or asked to be posted.  I just love unique items and this has become a regular way for me to share great things with you.

That being said, meet Necklush.   Necklush started out with two pretty cool guys selling their necklace/scarf hybrids on the streets of Brooklyn.  Just knowing this fact alone made me love this brand as I am a total goner for any type street vendor, especially when they are in New York (just ask my hubby, I pulled him to every single one I could find when we were there this past May).  Besides that, they are friends with the uber cool Unearthed (a Shop in Style feature back here).  Their designs look amazingly plush and add a bit of urban edge to any outfit.  I can easily see these paired with jeans and tee, but just as easily with a one shoulder cocktail dress for a standout night ensemble.  Check out some of my favorite pieces below (click on any photo for a close up).

1. Lushlet Bracelet Cuff, $30.00. 2. Necklushie Grey with Black Stripes, $26.00. 3. Necklush Ultra Forest and Brown, $74.00. 4. Circle Scarf, $27.00. 5. Mustard Yellow Scarf, $27.00. 6. Inkdrop Aqua, $62.00

What do you think?  Will any of you be buying a Lushie or Lushlet (loving the play on the Lush name!).  Or do you see a DIY project in here?  I would try, only I know mine would be a diaster, so thank goodness for Necklush.  Necklush can be shopped on their website or Esty as well as a few on hand places if you are lucky enough to live in Chicago, Houston, Santa Monica, Washington D.C. or Minneapolis.  Enjoy!

UPDATE: I came across this on the Necklush website (not associated with my post, they are just awesome!).  They are offering everyone a 10% discount code from Necklush.com or Necklush on Etsy.  Just use the code “LUSHLOVE” until March 31, 2012!

*Reminder: post not sponsored or perked in any way.  Just sharing a great shop with you!
