I wore this last Saturday after my husband and I finally tore ourselves away from our couch. We aren’t used to having Saturdays off and it was nice to spend the morning making breakfast, reading, and just relaxing. By the afternoon, though, I was ready to leave the house, so I booked tickets to see the Hollywood Costume exhibit and made plans to stop by a local mid-century furniture dealer. While we didn’t get any furniture, we loved the exhibit and are already making plans to return. We made the mistake of going 30 minutes before the museum closed and there was just not time to read everything. Each costume from various movies (everything from Cleopatra to Fight Club to Batman to Taxi Driver) had plaques that detailed the film, year, actors, designers, etc. along with quotes from someone relevant to the film. It was so interesting to really delve into how much thought really goes into the costumes for films. A must see for anyone interested in fashion! As far as this outfit is concerned, I’m thinking denim on denim is not going anywhere. I’ve wore this combination only a few times (once here), but really love the ease of making an outfit from two similar fabrics and then finding something small to set it off, like this gorgeously soft Richhard Grand cashmere button down. It made the perfect layering piece for a chilly day.
