Monday Chic: Thanksgiving Style

2013.11.27ThanksgivingStyleHappy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanskgiving holiday full of food, family and friends. I spent mine with my husband’s family (we played farkle and drank wine) and with my family (ate an obscene amount of mashed potatoes, made ginger bread houses, watched movies, thrifted, and drank coffee) and yesterday my husband and I picked out our first ever live Christmas tree (check out instagram for the details!). I am looking forward to relishing this holiday season, including the clothes!

Thanksgiving calls for a certain kind of style: something glamorous as a nod to the holiday but also comfortable enough to stand up to a lot of food, family games, and relaxation. If you follow me on instagram, you may have seen a little thrift trip I did on Thanksgiving Eve. Supposedly this trip was to pick up a huge basket for our home (one can never have enough baskets) but ended up with a trip down the shoe aisle which resulted in an amazing find: 5 pairs of beautiful Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. Three were dated looking, but the other two were oh-so-perfect and included this brown and gold pair – a perfect Thanksgiving shoe.
