Last Thursday, I coordinated and co-hosted a blogger and fashion lover’s party for Baggio Consignment. Our main goal was to invite people who had never been to the store before to come, look, shop and experience all of the incredible items that Baggio offers. I sent out invitations about a month before but found myself four days out planning goody bags for the guests (Thanks Fawn and Sarah!). Fortunately, Richmond is full of amazing people, businesses and publications and I was able to get hair product samples, free hair cuts, free cycling rides at what will be the best cycle studio ever (Boho opens soon!) and a few other Richmond-centric items.
Of course no party is complete without some wine ($4 from Trader Joes = best bottle ever), sparkling water, a party dress and a huge platter of cheese and crackers. Promptly at 6 the guests starting roll in, and we were off introducing people to the store, the layout, pricing and (my favorite) extra discounts.
We had some women I had never met before which was very fun as well as some bloggers and good friends. There was lots of browsing and even some trying on! Tiffany tried on an adorable fur vest and the best leopard Manolos to date. Here’s hoping she gives layaway a try! Liz from I Heart Veggies came out, looking amazing as always. I also finally met Alison from Richmond Bargains! She’s a fellow thrifty shopper so naturally we hit it off. Several friends from my full time gig stopped by and Lisa got the full Norma treatment: trying on $1,000 purple label Ralph Lauren sweater, Prada shoes, and even some fur. Margaret found an amazing pair of Frye boots and while some guests didn’t buy anything, they left with those amazing goody bags! We had an amazing time drooling over a cashmere sweater from The Row, showing off the mint condition Birkin bag and building up personal wish lists to give to husbands, boyfriends and significant others. We hope to have another one in a few months – save room in your calendar now!
