Monkee’s, Muffins & Mimosas: A Recap

Top, left right: Monkee’s chalk board sign, pink T’s and a Keep Calm and Wear Pink print, muffins and mimosas

October is not only the time for all things pumpkin and falling leaves, but for many people it’s the chance to celebrate birthdays – second chance birthdays after surviving cancer.  Events, and pink goods, are everywhere, and Friday October 12, 2012, Monkee’s of Richmond had their own event.  And while they offered pink fair, they had much, much more to choose from.  While this recap is a few months late, those suffering from cancer have it on their minds year long, not just October!  Keep reading for additional photos and fun facts that may just leave you needing a bigger closet.

Comfy and warm boots, a display wall with duds and a super cute bag

The ladies at Monkee’s are always dressed to a T no matter the weather and while you may think their style is for the typically preppy, even a Richmond hipster can find something they like with their great selection of Frye boots and stand out jewelry.

Top to bottom: Rachel Zoe-esque fur vest, charming dress and triangle necklace, Loren Hope jewels

Of course no event during October would be complete without a discount and a portion of the proceeds going to breast cancer research.  The staff at Monkee’s choose the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation as their charity – a great choice that helps keeps funds local.

Lynne is also featured in The Keys to Richmond, a specialty publication that features Richmond entrepreneurs with a fun photo (pick up your own copy to see it!) and her quote, something she has shared with me before in an interview I did here.  Monkee’s is a fun store with great investment ready pieces tailored to the girl that loves looking refined while still maintaining her own personal style edge.  And the good news?  It doesn’t have to be October for you to shop!

*POST UPDATE – Monkee’s recently announced on their Facebook page that thanks to their shoppers and this event they were able to raise a significant amount for the Virgnia Breast Cancer Foundation.  Great job!*

  1. Thank you! It was a fun event – I was waiting for DTSP to publish, but it took to long and then they missed the time window, so you guys got the exclusive ;)
