Happy 4th! While I actually wore this outfit yesterday, it’s very fitting for today’s post as I wore it for a meeting with the U.S. Department of Labor to discuss our organization’s implementation of a workforce development grant for homeless Veterans – a group who has lived, died, and in many cases, suffered so much for our country. We are honored that we will be able to serve our Vets through this new program. And if it means I get to wear a crimson pencil skirt to fly my patriotic colors then bring it on.
What are your plans for today? Fireworks, pool or a picnic? Do you know a Veteran, if so, how will you be honoring them today? My grandfather fought in World War II and as long as he was alive, he never talked about it. Your relative may not want to talk, but just be there for them – let them know you love them and are thankful for what they’ve given up.
