I may be a little slow on the Navajo trend, at least in terms of wearing statement pants or bold pieces, but that is mostly because I tend to stick with accents of a trend rather than a full on trend. A brown paper bag skirt paired with black textures, washed out denim jacket and bold cuff is my idea of perfect Western inspired wear. Having spent several summer mission trips on the Navajo reservation I can easily say I love accents of the Southwest – turquoise jewelry, deserts spanning for miles, huge treks up cliffs and across plains, and the amazing ability to see rain storms coming from several cities away, and inhaling Navajo tacos (never heard of them? Hit up Google or book a trip to Arizona stat – they are nothing short of delicious).
