First Responders

/(furst ri span ders)/n./ Travelers who rush to former danger zones or rogue stages, like Columbia or Syria, thereby anointing these spots as cutting-edge destinations, as in, “When it comes to shopping, she’s always a first responder.  She just spend a week on her own scavenging the souks of Damascus.”

Taken from the New York Times Travel magazine.  Is this a job career I can pursue??
