Shopping 2nd Hand 1st

I thrift, consign, sale and clearance shop because I love something unique and I love a bargain.  I’ve hinted at taking a pledge to shop 2^nd hand first in 2013 (inspired by Bella at The Citizen Rosebud) and after a few months of tentatively shopping 2^nd hand, a practice run if you will, I’m ready to go all in.  The original 2^nd hand 1^st pledge was created out of a desire to work towards a sustainable planet.  My pledge is a little different.  I want to teach, show and encourage woman to appreciate, have and even collect beautiful fashions at an affordable price.  More importantly, I want to show that 2^nd hand shopping is sexy, cool, and fun.  2^nd hand shopping doesn’t have to come with moth balls, funky smells or a stigma of wearing someone else’s clothes.  It comes with power, knowing you are making conscious decisions with your money to not support mass retailers, to purchase quality over quantity and to cultivate a wardrobe that will last.

I’m taking the plunge.
